Rules for Business
Baron Rothschild’s Rules of Business. This is a more complete list than most we found, said to be placed as placards in the bank where he worked. We found a similar list titled "Advice for Young Auctioneers" published in 1901. This might be a list to put over the computer monitor for any business endeavor.
- Carefully examine every detail of your business.
- Take time to consider, but decide positively.
- Be brave in the struggle of life.
- Dare to go forward.
- Bear trouble patiently
- Maintain your integrity as a sacred thing.
- Never tell business lies.
- Make no useless acquaintances.
- Never appear in anything more than you are.
- Pay your debts promptly
- Shun strong liquor
- Be polite to everybody.
- Do not reckon upon chance.
- Never be discouraged.
- Employ your time well.
- Then work hard and you will be certain to succeed.
