Rules for Business

Baron Rothschild’s Rules of Business. This is a more complete list than most we found, said to be placed as placards in the bank where he worked. We found a similar list titled "Advice for Young Auctioneers" published in 1901. This might be a list to put over the computer monitor for any business endeavor.
  1. Carefully examine every detail of your business.
  2. Take time to consider, but decide positively.
  3. Be brave in the struggle of life.
  4. Dare to go forward.
  5. Bear trouble patiently
  6. Maintain your integrity as a sacred thing.
  7. Never tell business lies.
  8. Make no useless acquaintances.
  9. Never appear in anything more than you are.
  10. Pay your debts promptly
  11. Shun strong liquor
  12. Be polite to everybody.
  13. Do not reckon upon chance.
  14. Never be discouraged.
