Tonight's Blue Moon - Night One
We had to get down on our hands and knees to take this photo of the almost full moon. We always have a little twinge, even in the cold weather, about moving around like that in the dark, since there are fire ants and scorpions to make things interesting, but that is life in Central Texas. We have a blog to write and readers who want to know what the latest lunar conditions are.
Since it is the second moon of the month, it is technically called a "blue moon". There is a little lens-flare from the camera further down in the photo, with a slight image of a reflected moon with some blue-tinge to it. It is a fresh picture of tonight's moon, we did not want to wait until tomorrow, the clouds could always intervene to make this high-in-the-sky winter moon invisible behind the elements.
