Thursday Night and We can Almost Hear The Drizzle!

We were out in the rain today, but it was a mild rain, just a little spit on the windshield. It was from the West Coast, so we were told, and it is making the weather in Central Texas a little unstable, but we are south of the snowy region, that apparently sweeping across the midsection of the country. Here are some recently listed books.

If we had time we would read them ourselves. The Nostromo book below, is by Joseph Conrad, considered by some to be his best, and is based on a seafarer's tale he heard about. It was a sailor who later wrote a book about the experience of stealing an entire shipload of silver during a tumultuous revolution in South America. Se would like to look at the book about logic as well, but time does not permit us to read our own books for the most part.

There is a translation of a German pioneer's memories about life in Texas over a century ago, that we will probably glance at, translated fairly recently. We have seen references to it elsewhere. It is missing a corner of the dust jacket, it is not a collectible, but should be of interest to anyone who wants to know about the early history of Texas.
