Inexpensive and Hard-To-Find Book

This is a book that was printed in the U. S. Virgin Islands and has not gotten a wide circulation.

We just listed a copy in the last few minutes.

Update: 03/19/09: We sold the only copy a few days ago to a party that lived in the Caribbean Islands. We will leave this entry up for reference purposes.

You could not find it (until now)  can not find it anymore on Amazon or eBay, at least this printing version (5th printing, September 1990), but it is was available at the My-Lynx-Associates.com book store. We don't like to brag too much about our selection, but this short book is interesting for herbalists, people who want to know more about other cultures, and even botanists who might want to know more about the popular uses of both medicinal herbs and plant-lore in a little-known part of America. The author, Arona Petersen has assembled together some of the oral traditions and spent time researching and identifying a number of plants (with the scientific names for reference purposes.)

The title of the book is "Herbs and Proverbs of the Virgin Islands", the author is Arona Peterson. The book mixes Caribbean island plant lore with some local proverbs. We have the one copy, when it has been sold, we will have to revise this blog entry, and blog visitors may have that annoyed feeling that they missed out on something special.
