We Sell The Books - Russian
Мы продаем книги (We sell the book) Your on-line "kiosk" (киоск). We have been listening to music from a group that hails from the other side of the world, so we thought we would throw in a few foreign phrases today. Hopefully your browser supports foreign language scripts, ours does, and it looks pretty good.
We found that the word for book in Cyrillic script is "книги". Our dictionary shows an accent over the first backwards n (really an "ee" sound in English) but online it does not come out correctly. We played around with a translator and if we were to sell books cheaply, it would be we sell the book "on the low" or "Мы продаем книги по низким ".
So we don't know colloquial Russian, we just hodge-podge it. The sentence is probably a little scrambled.
This is not just a pointless exercise in linguistics, since we do have a book for sale in Russian, about the Bolshoi Theater (Большой театр).
The book has three different languages for your high-arts needs: Russian, English and French. We have the only copy we could find anywhere, lavishly illustrated with photos of great actors and of course ballerinas. Snap it up if you are interested. They have been around since 1776 and have survived wars and revolutions.
